This quiz is a listening study run by Intrect. This page lists exactly what it stores. It sets no cookies and loads no analytics or third-party scripts.

What your browser keeps

Item	Where	What it is
survey_device	localStorage	A random device token (a UUID). It lets the server recognise this browser for the nickname and for rate limits. There is no account.
survey_lang, survey_sound	localStorage	Your language and sound-effects choice.
survey_session, survey_tally	sessionStorage	The id of your current run and display counts, so a reload can resume. The browser clears them when you close the tab.

What the server stores when you play

• Device token, as a keyed hash only. The server stores an HMAC of the token made with a secret that stays on the server. The token itself is not stored, and the hash cannot be turned back into it.
• Your run: start and finish time, score, lives, streak, highest stage, the clips that were asked, and for every answer your choice, whether it was correct, the points, the response time in milliseconds and a timestamp.
• Optional profile answers (music experience, experience with AI-generated music, what you listened for), chosen from fixed lists and saved with the run.
• No IP address and no user agent is stored. The server also stores no referrer, no cookie and no name or location.
• To limit abuse the server counts requests per hour or day. It does this with a one-way keyed hash of your IP address plus the UTC date, cut to 16 characters. The address itself is never stored or written to logs, the hash changes every day, and counter rows are deleted after about 48 hours.

Leaderboard nickname

Publishing is your choice. If you publish, the leaderboard stores your nickname, highest stage, score, whether you cleared every stage and the finish time, and shows them publicly. The nickname is public because you chose to publish it, and your device then holds that nickname. Pick one that does not identify you. Nobody asks for your real name.

Email address

Giving an email address is optional. It has its own box with a separate checkbox that starts unticked. The address is saved in lower case together with the consent wording version (survey-email-v1) and a timestamp, in a separate table that does not refer to your run, your device or your answers. No email is sent at this stage. To have an address removed, ask through the Intrect help center and include the address itself, because it cannot be matched to a run.

Hosting, audio and links

• The site (survey.intrect.io) and the clips (demo-audio.intrect.io) are served through Cloudflare. As with any website, requesting a file shows your IP address to the server that sends it. This quiz does not store it, as described above.
• Links to the Intrect demo and the de-artifact page open other Intrect sites. They carry utm_source=survey so Intrect can see that a visit started from this quiz. Those sites have their own privacy notices.
• The quiz shows no advertising.

Keeping and removing data

No automatic deletion date has been set for run data yet. It carries no name, and the device token is stored only as a hash. If you published a nickname or gave an email address and want it removed, contact Intrect through the help center. The privacy notice for intrect.io is at intrect.io/privacy. How the clips were made is explained on the method page.
